Manchester City to consider bid for Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand

Manchester City appear to have a genuine interest in signing Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand this winter.

According to the football transfer rumours in British Media, Manchester City will consider bid for Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand.

The England international has joined Southampton from Chelsea for a fee in the region of 14 million euros in February 2015. The 28-year-old has a valid contract with Southampton until June 2021.

Since his arrival from Chelsea, Bertrand has scored 6 goals and provided 14 assists in 115 games for Southampton.

The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in England.

Bertrand has represented England at Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 31 caps, before making his senior international debut in August 2012. As a member of England national football team, Ryan Bertrand has won 17 caps and has scored one goal.

The England international will be high in demand this winter, with him having enjoyed a sublime season for Southampton this term.

Adding a left-back remains Manchester City’s top priority and Pep Guardiola will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

The report claims that Manchester City manager has extensively scouted Ryan Bertrand and is considering a move for the left-back.

The England international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Pep Guardiola wants to target in the winter transfer window.
