Leicester linked with Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne

Leicester City appear to have a genuine interest in signing Nathaniel Clyne this winter.

The reports in England suggested that Leicester are linked with Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne.

The England international was signed by Liverpool in July 2015 from Southampton for a fee of 17.7 million euros. The 27-year-old has a contract until 2020 with the club.

Clyne has played 99 times for Liverpool since signing from Southampton, scoring two goals and creating five assists in that time.

As a member of England national football team, Clyne won 14 caps.

Nathaniel Clyne is out of the picture at Liverpool, which has opened the door for a potential exit.

Claude Puel is looking to shore up his defensive options and Liverpool’s Nathaniel Clyne happens to be a target. He is a long term admirer of Clyne and believes he can get the most out of the England international.

Leicester City are desperate to make an impact in the winter transfer window.

According to Mirror, “Nathaniel Clyne is a January target for Leicester. The 27-year-old defender has fallen behind Trent Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool and has been limited to one appearance so far this season. That came in the Carabao Cup last month, when Jurgen Klopp’s men lost 2-1 to Chelsea. Clyne knows Alexander-Arnold is ahead of him in the pecking order and is ready to move on to secure regular first-team football. The Foxes are in the market for a new right-back and are keeping tabs on the player’s situation.”
