Lazio are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on Kosovo international Valon Berisha.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Lazio are set to sign Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Valon Berisha.
The Kosovo international was signed by Red Bull Salzburg in July 2012 from Viking for a fee of 2.8 million euros. The 25-year-old has a contract until 2020 with the club.
Berisha has played 233 times for Red Bull Salzburg since signing from Viking, scoring 45 goals and creating 65 assists in that time.
The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Kosovo.
Valon Berisha has also scored one goal in 10 games for his country.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Lazio.
The report details that Simone Inzaghi feels his midfield currently lacks some bite and that he could strengthen this summer.
The Kosovo international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfield player Simone Inzaghi wants to target in the summer transfer window.
Valon Berisha has the talent to play many roles in midfield.
According to Calciomercato (via La Repubblica), “After Valon Berisha’s move to Sampdoria looks to have failed, with the player reportedly not interested in a move, La Repubblica are claiming that Lazio are now the favourites to sign the Kosovan. The Salzburg midfielder, who Lazio fans will remember after their embarrassing collapse against the Austrian side in the Europa League quarter-final, was close to a €7m switch to the Genoa-based side, yet didn’t agree personal terms. Now, it appears as though Lazio have the player’s interest, with the suggestion being that he has cut off contact with all other clubs in the hope of a move to Rome.”

Signing the 25-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Simone Inzaghi.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Lazio.
How strong that interest is and whether Lazio will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
