Juventus will look to sign Real Madrid full-back Marcelo

When it comes to the transfer market, Juventus are simply one of the best in the business.

According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Juventus are set to sign Real Madrid full-back Marcelo.

The Brazil international joined Real Madrid from Fluminense for a fee in the region of 6.5 million euros in January 2007. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.

Marcelo has played 452 times for Real Madrid since signing from Fluminense, scoring 33 goals and creating 86 assists in that time.

The 30-year-old is considered to be one of the best full-backs in Brazil.

His record for Brazil is also impressive. Marcelo has scored six goals in 58 matches for Brazil at senior level.

The Brazil international performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Juventus.

The report claims that Juventus manager has extensively scouted Marcelo and is considering a move for the full-back.

Massimiliano Allegri is a long term admirer of Marcelo and believes he can get the most out of the Brazil international.

Juventus are desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.

According to Football Italia (via Sportitalia) , “Juventus are giving genuine thought to a bid for Real Madrid and Brazil full-back Marcelo, assure Sportitalia. The Bianconeri already shook up the summer by signing Cristiano Ronaldo for €112m and could reunite him with another Merengues player in Turin. There have been reports about the Marcelo approach before, but Sportitalia insist there will be more proposals in future. However, it would depend on Alex Sandro leaving and he has offers from Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea. It’d be another very expensive move for Juventus, as Real Madrid want €50m for Marcelo and he currently earns €11m per year, making him one of the highest-paid players at the Bernabeu.”

Real Madrid are reluctant to let Marcelo go, but a big enough bid could persuade them to sell.

The 30-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Juventus squad and would be a good buy in the summer transfer window.
