Juventus and Arsenal are to consider bid for Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka, according to the football transfer rumours in German Media.
Leon Goretzka has joined Schalke 04 from VfL Bochum for a fee in the region of 2.7 million euros in July 2013. The 22 year-old has a valid contract with Schalke 04 until the June 2018.
Since his arrival from VfL Bochum, Leon Goretzka has scored 13 goals and provided eight assists in 108 games for Schalke 04, including six goals and two assists in 31 games in all competition this season.
Leon Goretzka has also represented Germany at Under-16, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 34 caps across all age groups and scoring nine goals. Since May 2014, Goretzka is a member of Germany national football team, winning three caps.
The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the brightest prospects in the Bundesliga.
The Germany international has been in fine form for Schalke this season.
Leon Goretzka has been long term target of Massimiliano Allegri and Arsène Wenger as the managers look to bolster their midfield options for the next season.
Euro Football Rumours understood that Schalke representatives would prefer to sell Goretzka in the summer transfer window if their proposed new contract is not signed by Goretzka.
How strong that interest is and whether Juventus and Arsenal will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
