Genoa will look to sign Lucas Perez

Genoa are planning a move for Lucas Perez.

The reports in Italy suggested that Genoa will look to sign Arsenal forward Lucas Perez.

The 29-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The Spain international joined Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruña for a fee in the region of 14 million euros in August 2016. His contract expires in the summer of 2020. In August 2017, Lucas Perez was sent back to Deportivo La Coruña on a season-long loan.

Perez has played 35 times for Deportivo La Coruña since signing from Arsenal, scoring eight goals and creating seven assists in that time.

The 29-year-old is currently out of favor at Arsenal and could leave the club in the summer.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Genoa.

The Genoa manager has been impressed by his performances this season and could make a move in the coming transfer window.

Genoa will be in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

Lucas Perez has the talent to play many roles in attack.

According to Football Italia, “Genoa are reportedly planning a summer swoop for Arsenal forward Lucas Perez. According to Primocanale, Genoa have identified Lucas as a reinforcement for their attack, which is one of Serie A’s least potent, the Grifone having scored just 32 goals this season.”

Arsenal are preparing to sell their forward should they receive right offer for him.

Genoa are reportedly facing competition from AC Milan in their pursuit of Arsenal forward.

The 29-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Genoa squad and would be a good buy in the summer transfer window.

Whether he will join Genoa or not remains to be seen.
