Everton will look to sign Patrick van Aanholt

Everton appear to have a genuine interest in signing Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt this winter.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Everton will look to sign Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt.

Crystal Palace reportedly paid Sunderland 11 million euros for Patrick van Aanholt at the beginning of this year. The 27-year-old has a valid contract with Crystal Palace until June 2021.

Patrick van Aanholt has scored two goals in 22 games for Crystal Palace since joining the club.

The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best defenders in Netherlands.

Patrick van Aanholt has represented Netherlands at Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 26 caps and scoring one goal, before making his senior international debut in November 2013. As a member of Netherlands national football team, Patrick van Aanholt won six caps.

Sam Allardyce is looking to shore up his defensive options and Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt happens to be a target.

The Netherlands international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Sam Allardyce wants to target in the winter transfer window.

Sam Allardyce is a long term admirer of Patrick van Aanholt and believes he can get the most out of the Netherlands international.

Everton will be desperate to make an impact in winter transfer window.

The 27-year-old would be a very good addition for Everton and they can afford him as well.

According to the report, Sam Allardyce is eyeing another reunion with Crystal Palace defender. The pair worked together at Sunderland and the left-back was instrumental in their run as they avoided relegation in 2016. Since recovering from an injury, Patrick van Aanholt has had to settle for a place on the bench as new manager Roy Hodgson prefers Jeffrey Schlupp. The Netherlands international could seek a move next month.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Everton come calling for Patrick van Aanholt in January.
