Chelsea linked with a move for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski

According to the football transfer rumours in British Media (Mirror), Chelsea are linked with a move for Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland international has joined Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer in July 2014. The 28-year-old has a valid contract with Bayern Munich until June 2021

Since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund, Robert Lewandowski has scored 110 goals and provided 30 assists in 147 games for Bayern Munich, including 43 goals and provided 10 assists in 47 games in all competitions this season.

The Poland international has been in outstanding form for Bayern Munich this season.

Robert Lewandowski has represented Poland at Under-21 level, winning three caps, before making his senior international debut in September 2008. As a member of Poland national football team, Robert Lewandowski has won 87 caps and has scored 46 goals.

Adding a striker remains Chelsea’s top priority this summer and Antonio Conte will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

The Poland international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of attacking player Antonio Conte wants to target in the summer transfer window.

Antonio Conte will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the Bayern Munich striker is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.

Chelsea are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.

The Poland international will definitely be a good addition to the Chelsea side, which will be competing in the Champions League next season.

With questions being raised concerning Diego Costa’s future at the club, the Chelsea boss could well look to Robert Lewandowski as an ideal replacement.

Robert Lewandowski would reportedly be interested in a move this summer, but if Chelsea do want him, they will have to beat those other interested clubs to his signature.

How strong that interest is and whether Chelsea will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
