Bordeaux in advanced talks to bring Rosenborg forward Nicklas Bendtner

Bordeaux are discussing a move to sign Nicklas Bendtner before the end of the winter transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Bordeaux are in advanced talks to bring Rosenborg forward Nicklas Bendtner.

The Denmark international was signed by Rosenborg in March 2017. The 30-year-old has a contract until December 2019 with the club.

Since his arrival from Nottingham Forest, Bendtner has scored 23 goals and provided three assists in 44 games for Rosenborg, including four goals and one assist in 12 games in all competitions this season.

The 30-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in Denmark.

His record for Denmark is also impressive. Nicklas Bendtner has scored 30 goals in 79 matches for Denmark at senior level.

The Bordeaux manager has been impressed by Bendtner’s performances this season and could make a move.

Bordeaux are desperate to make an impact in winter transfer window.

Nicklas Bendtner has the talent to play many roles in attack.

According to the Sun, Bendtner has emerged as a somewhat surprise candidate to join Bordeaux. Ex-Juventus and Nottingham Forest star Bendtner enjoyed a solid spell in the Eliteserien last season, and new Bordeaux manager Gus Poyet has actively encouraged the club’s board to pursue Bendtner. Bordeaux are said to be looking for a loan deal.

Rosenborg are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the forward, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

Signing the 30-year-old in January would be a masterstroke from Gus Poyet.
