Barcelona linked with surprise move for Milan Skriniar

There has been numerous defenders linked with Barcelona in past few months.

According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Barcelona are linked with surprise move for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.

The Slovakia international joined Inter Milan from Sampdoria for a fee in the region of 27 million euros in July 2017. The 23-year-old has four years left on his current contract which expires in 2022.

Skriniar made 46 appearances across all competitions for Inter, scoring four goals.

He’s incredibly experienced for a 23-year-old and still has tons of room for growth.

As a member of Slovakia national football team, Skriniar won 16 caps.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Barcelona.

Ernesto Valverde is looking to shore up his defensive options and Inter Milan’s Skriniar happens to be a target.

The Slovakia international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Valverde wants to target in the winter transfer window.

Milan Skriniar is a traditional defender. He is solid while defending and holds his position perfectly.

According to Football Italia (via SME), “Inter defender Milan Skriniar is a target for Barcelona, according to reports in his native Slovakia. The centre-back is in contract talks with the Nerazzurri after starring in his first season, but so far there has been no agreement. Manchester United were heavily linked with a move in the summer, and now it’s reported that Barça are also weighing-up a bid. According to SME, Coach Ernesto Valverde is concerned about his lack of defensive cover, especially after the injury to Samuel Umtiti. He has therefore asked the directors to sign a centre-back, but Inter’s asking price of €85m isn’t one that the Catalans are willing to pay.”
