The left-back has just eight months remaining on his contract and Liverpool may consider a deal in this transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.

Ernesto Valverde is looking to shore up his defensive options and Liverpool’s Alberto Moreno happens to be a target.

The Spain international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Ernesto Valverde wants to target in the winter transfer window.

According to The Sun, “The Spanish giants were in for a left-back this summer to provide back-up for first-choice Jordi Alba. But they missed out on a list of targets that was believed to include Juan Bernat and Ferland Mendy. Spanish news-site Mundo Deportivo claims, the Catalan club have switched their attention to Anfield and their out-of-favour left-back. Moreno has found game-time almost impossible so far this season, having appeared only once, in the EFL Cup defeat to Chelsea. And Barca will be confident of landing the 26-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer.”
