Barcelona linked with a move for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez

Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has emerged as a surprise target for Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish Media, Barcelona are linked with a move for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez.

Riyad Mahrez has joined Leicester City from AC Le Havre for a fee in the region of 500,000 euros in 2014. The 26 year-old has a valid contract with Leicester City until June 2020.

After his arrival from AC Le Havre, Riyad Mahrez has scored 34 goals and provided 24 assists in 126 games for Leicester City, including nine goals and provided six assists in 36 games in all competitions this season.

The 26-year-old is considered to be one of the best wingers in Premier League.

Since May 2014, Riyad Mahrez is a member of Algeria national football team, winning 30 caps and scoring eight goals.

The Algeria international is a player who has impressed many European Clubs in the last few seasons.

Euro Football Rumours understood that the Algeria international has held talks with Barcelona representatives and is keen to complete a move at the end of the season. According to the reports in Spanish Media, Leicester City valuate their winger Riyad Mahrez in the region of 40 million euros.
