Atalanta to consider bid for Alaves winger Edgar Mendez
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media, Atalanta will consider bid for Alaves winger Edgar Mendez.
Edgar Mendez has joined Alaves from Granada CF on a free transfer in July 2016. The 25 year-old has a valid contract with Alaves until June 2019.
Since his arrival from Granada, Edgar Mendez has scored eight goals and provided one assist in 27 games for Alaves in all competitions.
The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best wingers in Spain.
The Spain international is a player who has impressed many European clubs in the last season, and it is understood that Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini would prefer playing him as a left wing.
The clubs from Germany and Turkey are apparently trailing Atalanta in the pursuit of Alaves winger Edgar Mendez.
Euro Football Rumours understood that Atalanta are so impressed with Edgar Mendez that they are prepared to pay the full 5 million euros release clause in his contract.
How strong that interest is and whether Atalanta will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
